Section 08 | Málaga – Torre del Mar
Discovering the eastern Costa del Sol
This eighth stage covers 33 km, linking Málaga with the village of Torre del Mar on a route that mixes areas of great archaeological and historical value and urban tourist beaches, industrial areas and sites of major environmental interest. The route exits Málaga through the port, by the cycling promenade leading to the traditional fishing district of El Palo. From there, you take the Málaga Coastal Path towards the Cala del Moral beach. This impressive route winds facing the sea across wooden walkways and tunnels excavated in rock. It has been declared a Place of Historical Memory of Andalusia in memory of the displacement of thousands of people from the region as a consequence of the Spanish Civil World known as La Desbandá. The stretch departing from Rincón de la Victoria onwards meets the N-340 road at certain point until it gets to Torre del Mar across its promenade, which is considered the best in Europe.
